Duties:

We are looking for a smart, digitally savvy leader that is responsible for leading a key list of client businesses. The Director would be an active part of the leadership team with five direct reports supporting a defined list of clients. Candidates must have offline and online planning experience as well as experience in managing both people and senior clients. Media Director is a management position accountable for all aspects of their assigned client’s campaigns including budgeting, forecasting and staffing. It is expected that the Director will participate in new business and other areas of importance at the department and agency level. This role reports directly into the Neo Canada agency lead.

Position Description:

  • Oversight on all aspects of client’s media services and client management
  • Strong digital background with experience in offline planning. Performance Marketing experience is a strong asset for this role
  • Responsible for overall media objectives and strategies that fulfill client business objectives
  • Lead creation of all important plans and presentations with staff support.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and innovation for enhanced media plans and results
  • Work closely with and foster cross-agency relationships with creative and internal teams
  • Train, motivate & develop Media Supervisors, Media Strategists and Media Coordinators
  • Manage and grow five direct reports
  • Establish culture of excellence and quality output
  • Participate in new business and support the growth of the agency 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant media experience, media agency experience is a must
  • Proven leadership skills and management experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentation and facilitation)
  • Diverse client background including a strong background in direct response and branding initiatives
  • Awareness of client business issues, industry/consumer trends, promotional resources, market status and competition.
  • Good understanding of tracking and tagging, behavioral marketing, database modeling, retargeting and addressability, an asset
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to inspire and interact with all levels of staff
  • Comfortable and effective presenter
  • Superior problem-solving capabilities
