 What We Are Looking For

NCU is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our School of Social and Behavioral Sciences team as the Director, SSBS Virtual Institute. 

This position will serve as a Director of the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences (SSBS) Virtual Institute housed within the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences. The long-term vision of the Institute is to establish itself as a resource to NCU students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the
general public. Areas of focus may include: virtual training site for NCU clinical programs; repository of information, resources, and tools on clinical, mental health, and wellness topics for the NCU and broader community; psycho-educational programs; supporting ongoing research
projects; and other clinical and wellness services & resources. The Director will be an integral part in determining the vision and specific services offered, in collaboration with the SSBS
leadership.

The Director will be responsible for planning, collecting, curating, and sharing resources from internal and external content experts to assist with virtual programs. This position works closely with other faculty and School leaders. In addition, this position will be highly collaborative with other departments of the institution including, but not limited to, Marketing, Grants Office, Library, and Alumni Services, and develop collaborations with external organizations and groups. Demonstrated experience and excellence in remote cross-team collaboration is essential for this role. The Director will report to the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences Associate Dean.


Essential Functions

  • As the Founding Director of the SSBS Institute the essential functions will be to work collaboratively to identify the long-term vision and take measured steps towards their establishment in order to show desirable outcomes.
  •  Manage and promote multiple behavioral health services in collaboration with school faculty.
  •  Entrepreneurship with the ability to take ideas to fruition.
  • Develop policy, practices, procedures, and incorporate tools necessary to implement and maintain various services and offering.
  • Collaborates with internal and external experts across multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Northcentral’s vision, mission, and goals and those of the School of Social & Behavioral Sciences.
  • Participates in leadership, faculty and staff meetings as appropriate.
  • Adheres to policies and requirements defined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Tasks and projects as assigned by the Dean, Associate Dean, or other NCU administrators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  •  Ability to identify problems, collect information, establish facts, draw valid conclusions,and recommend and implement policies and processes to advance continuous improvement efforts.
  •  Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite

Education and Experience

  • Graduate degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Preferred doctoral degree.
  • Experience with organizational growth, management, and development.
  •  Experience developing or leading a Center at a university or private sector preferred.
  • Clinical Supervision Experience desired with knowledge of organizing an online clinical practice.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  •  Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
  •  All skills, abilities and education will be considered for minimum qualifications.

 

Working Conditions

This position operates in a remote, home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.

  • Good working environment with the absence of disagreeable conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
