 What We Are Looking For

NCU is currently seeking a dynamic individual to become part of our Communications and Advancement team as the Remote Constituent Relations and Database Manager. 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the overall administration and support for the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system, specifically Salsa CRM and Salsa Engage.
  • Assist with data entry and comprehensive information management for all constituents.
  • Enter constituent data for all individuals and organizations, including address updates, constituent demographics, and relationship links.
  • Maintain database constituent codes. Audit data hygiene reports for Office of the President and Office of the Provost, making data updates as required.
  • Interact with constituents, including donors, alumni, corporate/academic partnerships, planned giving, and other university stakeholders regarding data maintenance activities.
  • Prepare materials for meetings, including interfacing with other teams on deliverables, including prospect research and constituent profiles.
  • Assist with meeting preparation and scheduling relating to nurturing donor, alumni, and academic partnership relations.
  • Attend meetings, taking notes, and following up as needed.
  • Support constituent communications, including presentations, board materials, and website updates, and serve as the first line of communication for constituents, responding to inquiries via phone and email.
  • Support events (including virtual) for individual and corporate donors/partners and for third-party fundraising activities as needed.
  • Attends regular meetings with support staff and various team members to review upcoming issues, items, and training.
  • Track marketing benefits, such as promotion in the employee newsletter, offered to academic partners.
  • Track contracts and report on agreed-upon terms, renewals, commitments, and expiration dates.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Reasonable and consistent attendance to fulfill requirements of the position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience, technical development skills of Salsa CRM and Salsa Engage.
  • Proven customer service orientation combined with the ability to work well with others.
  • Creativity, initiative, excitement about the possibilities of the CRM.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Excellent business analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with people of varying technical skills.
  • Previous experience in an end-user technical support role.
  • Quick, analytical thinker.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Any background with CSS, HTML, or query-writing would be helpful.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing, public affairs, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of (5) years relevant experience in a higher education setting in administration, marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising, community relations, or other related fields.
  • Experience in higher education preferred
  • Experience in consumer marketing strategies a plus (digital, email, social)
  • Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
  • All skills, abilities, and education will be considered for minimum qualifications

Working Conditions

This position operates in a remote, home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.

  • Good working environment with the absence of disagreeable conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
