What We Are Looking For


The School of JFK Law at Northcentral University seeks applications for a a Full Professor in School of Law.



Full-time Professors may teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses within a programmatic core discipline as assigned and/or guide doctoral candidates through doctoral dissertation requirements (as Chair or committee member). This position also provides content expertise to the Dean in areas of School of Law. Primary responsibility is to engage students, offer excellent feedback, and inspire students to achieve course and program outcomes relevant to the core discipline. This position works closely with other faculty teaching in the discipline, Associate Director of Faculty Support and Development, Assistant Dean and Dean.



Essential Functions

  • The role of faculty includes teaching courses in the JD Program, with an immediate need in the legal writing and research curriculum.
  • Acting as a content expert for course development.
  • Participation in the School of Law and University shared governance structure, and in service to the University.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to Northcentral’s vision, mission, and goals and those of the School of Law.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to and a capacity for Teaching through Engagement.
  • Participates in faculty and staff meetings.
  • Conducts both synchronous and asynchronous courses, maintaining effective communication with students in their courses.
  • Works collaboratively with academic and financial advisors to ensure student engagement and success.
  • Participates in institutional and student learning outcomes assessment procedures, program, department review, and accreditation efforts.
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by the Dean, or NCU administrators.

  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Skilled in online teaching – both asynchronous and synchronous.
  • Ability to guide and mentor law students.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with accreditation requirements of the School of Law and University.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect information, establish facts, draw conclusions, and recommend and implement effective legal writing curriculum.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and other applications in the Microsoft Office suite



  • JD Degree required from an accredited institution.
  • A licensed attorney (inactive or active) in any state.
  • Experience with online delivery modality.
  • Legal Research and Writing teaching experience. Teaching experience in other law courses preferred.
  • Curriculum development experience preferred.


This position operates in a remote, home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.

  • Good working environment with the absence of disagreeable conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
