 INFRASTRUCTURE – SYSTEMS ENGINEER

NBBJ is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our talented Digital Infrastructure team. Our ideal candidate is highly collaborative, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, strong project management and time management skills and has a successful track record of designing simple, scalable solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems and delivering innovative solutions. Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work with a wide range of complex technologies
  • Tier 3 support, proactive maintenance for corporate infrastructure and related solutions, design and implementation of large solutions
  • Support the firm’s Microsoft Windows Servers providing installation, logical and physical design and implementation, security administration, backup and recovery planning and performance tuning
  • Plan, design, and build highly available, reliable, and scalably architected designs of virtualized platforms
  • Document workflows, processes, procedures, configurations, and use cases of infrastructure services
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day in our infrastructure
  • Meet with vendors to discuss product offerings, address technical issues/deficiencies, and influence new products and services to meet growing and changing requirements
  • Lead, coach, and mentor other team members, perform cross-training and facilitate information sharing among team members
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement fixes
  • May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of systems malfunction

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • At least three years of relevant experience in a mid-sized enterprise environment
  • Experience designing and managing medium scale global Microsoft Windows Server and Client environments
  • Methodical and analytical approach to server troubleshooting
  • Experience with the following:
    • Microsoft Active Directory in a multisite environment, including DNS and DHCP
    • Group Policy management
    • Microsoft Windows 2016+
    • Installation, configuration and support of Microsoft Distributed File System, File Replication Services, File Quota/Resource Management, PKI
    • Windows PowerShell scripting
    • Microsoft Systems Center experience, primarily with SCCM
    • Citrix
    • CommVault
  • Experience in server provisioning and de-provisioning
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals and related applications/protocols (DNS, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SSL),
  • Hands on technical experience with Office 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, and CRM
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills

Additional Accomplishments and Skills that will make you Successful:

  • Experience with Nutanix AOS/AHV
  • Prior Microsoft or Citrix certification
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Highly autonomous, detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to interact efficiently with peers and customers is required
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential
  • Effective prioritization and time management
