TECH SERVICES – AV Specialist

NBBJ is seeking an experienced AV Specialist to join our talented Digital Tech Services team. In addition to extensive technical skills, our ideal candidate is highly collaborative, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong project management and time management abilities. The desire and ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment is essential.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Set up computer and audiovisual (AV) equipment upon request in NBBJ conference rooms
  • Assist customers with use of equipment and provide user training on the use of conference room equipment
  • Schedule AV cabling and service in conference spaces on an incidental basis
  • Assist external users in getting connected to NBBJ conference rooms when requested
  • Onsite, AV related, medium and large event support
  • Perform daily maintenance/performance checks of all conference room AV equipment to ensure continued readiness, prior to scheduled use
  • Responsible for service quality monitoring and investigation of identified recurring issues / problems, and then developing a workaround and/or fix.
  • Plan for the deployment of technical changes (hardware/software releases and upgrades)
  • Supports regional operational service delivery teams (contractors) as needed.
  • Creates and maintains detailed infrastructure, support, and process documents as required

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • At least 1 year of AV integration experience
  • In-depth knowledge of HDMI signals and standards including EDID, HDCP, and CEC
  • Experience with Crestron SIMPL Windows and Toolbox
  • Experience supporting the following video conferencing platforms:
    • MS Teams
    • Zoom
  • Must be willing to support off-hours critical issues and escalations
  • Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure

Additional Accomplishments and Skills that will make you Successful:

  • Experience installing and troubleshooting AV over IP systems such as HDBaseT, Dante, Crestron DM & DM lite, Crestron NVX, and Extron DTP & XTP
  • Experience installing and supporting Crestron Flex Video Conferencing Systems (Teams & Zoom)
  • Experience installing and supporting Shure MXA microphones and Intellimix Audio Conferencing Processors
  • Experience programming with Crestron SIMPL +
  • Live event support experience
  • Experience with DSP systems including configuring AEC and EQ settings
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting RS-232 and TCP/IP connections
  • Experience supporting the following video conferencing platforms: 
    • Chime 
    • BlueJeans
    • WebEx
    • VooV
  • Excellent documentation practices: SharePoint, Visio, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Ability to manage technology releases including software, hardware, and corresponding support documentation.
  • Ability to propose and participate in design improvements for video & conferencing infrastructure, including collaboration services.
