The role at a glance:
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join NBBJ Seattle as a Marketing Specialist. NBBJ Marketing Specialists work with Practice Marketing Directors and Marketing Managers to produce qualifications, proposals and interview presentations that grow potential clients and enhance current client relationships. Marketing Specialists are highly organized team players who are proactive and can perform under tight deadlines. They have a relentless attention to detail and participate in challenging strategic pursuits that align with our clients’ goals. 

Specialists generate well-coordinated and compelling proposals, brochures and presentations which not only address client needs, but also clearly articulate the fundamental design challenge and opportunity for innovation. They are engaged in all phases of the sales cycle including lead generation activities, client relationships and prospect management. They are also part of the larger marketing strategy and ideation group made up of market leaders and the marketing team. 

Successful candidates will have superior prospect, project and time management skills, graphic design and layout expertise, possess the ability to motivate others to reach deadlines and be highly communicative among the team. In addition, specialists are expected to maintain a robust library of materials and serve as a knowledge expert for project teams.
 

In your new role:

Prospect Management

  • Produce well-coordinated and compelling responses for qualifications, proposals, and interviews utilizing InDesign
    • Organize project team content from strategy to final proposal production.
    • Responsibilities include editing narrative, gathering images, proposal layout, and coordinating sub-consultant information.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Manager, ensure best practices for point-of-sale workflow through each phase of the process:
    • prepositioning, proposal, shortlist/selection, interview, and post pursuit responsibilities
  • Build consistent content accuracy, relevancy, and thoroughness through active engagement with the Content Management System
  • Identify opportunities to utilize thought leadership in lead generation and pursuit efforts

Lead Generation & Client Development

  • Assist content development and final production of custom brochures and lead generation collateral
  • Organize and execute internal business development and market focused client relationship meetings
  • Assist in growing a culture of proactive marketing and client targeting and prepositioning
  • Work closely with Communications team for event logistics centered around business development and lead generation
  • Assist market leaders with collateral needs prior to or after any client engagements.
  • Regular reporting and updates to CRM

Data Management and Content Organization 

  • Utilize proposal tools available for an efficient pursuit process
  • Collaborate effectively with pursuit teams by utilizing collaboration tools:
    • Adobe Editor
    • MS Teams
    • MURAL
  • Manage process for collecting and entering accurate prospect & project data into databases
    • MS Dynamics CRM
    • Deltek Vision
    • OpenAsset
  • Maintain robust library of narrative for proposals
  • Utilize and update marketing workload and tracking tools
What you will need to succeed:
  • 4-year degree in Marketing, Communications or other applicable discipline; a focus in English or journalism a plus
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of industry/relevant experience
  • Intermediate/Expert understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Understanding of basic layout and graphic design principles
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Exceptional time management, project management and organizational skills
  • Experience in proposal development for professional services firms (examples or portfolio requested)
  • Ability to work efficiently under multiple deadlines
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Deltek Vision, OpenAsset, CRM and other databases a plus

 

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $72-$79K. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
