The role at a glance:
NBBJ New York is seeking an Junior Interior Designer to work on healthcare interiors projects at a variety of scales. The role will offer you opportunities to grow within the firm, experience with world-class clients, and ask you to fully participate in an innovative, creative, and highly collaborative environment. We seek candidates who are both self-motivated and team players with a deep passion for the design and craft of interiors.

In your new role, you will:

  • Actively contribute to dynamic, collaborative teams across diverse project types.
  • Engage proactively in team discussions and ideation at all levels.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with senior designers to develop and execute design concepts and strategies.
  • Provide design and documentation support for projects of varying scope and complexity.
  • Develop and refine design concepts and finish palettes throughout all project phases.
  • Stay curious and committed to continuous learning. 

What you will need to succeed:

  • 2 - 6 years of professional experience in Interior Design with a background in healthcare
  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • LEED or WELL Accreditation, or willingness to pursue within 18 months of hire
  • Strong conceptual design and schematic design skills
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to lead aspects of work with design direction
  • Proficiency with Revit and 3D modeling skills essential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, Sketchup, and/or 3DS Max
  • Creation of presentation books and materials
  • Experience with researching, selecting and specifying materials and finishes
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, open environment

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $70,000 and $85,000. Actual compensation for successful candidates will be carefully determined based on a number of factors, including their skills, qualifications and experience.
