Responsibilities:

 

The Principal Application Developer will lead development efforts in building applications using modern frameworks and REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), lead development, enhancement, and maintenance of internal financial applications, and leverage their extensive technical expertise and industry knowledge to drive the design and implementation of innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our financial services operations. 

 

Job duties include the following:

  • Proficient in UI development and building apps to support Portfolio Management, Security Management and Operation systems. 
  • Responsible for providing technical expertise in development and integration in Team’s current development framework, application security and analytical framework. This is deployed through different vendor and in-house solutions.
  • Implements new technical solutions for on-going development efforts. 
  • Work with our business partners in gathering requirements and implementing the desired solutions.
  • Analyze and design applications on major projects ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
  • Administers users, roles and layouts in applications. 
  • Be part of multiple projects, supporting several departmental initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications for several corporate initiatives.
  • Establishes effort estimates for projects of moderate scope.
  • Support nightly batch production cycles, which requires periodic on call responsibility. 

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

 

Employer requires a master's degree in computer science or related field and three (3) years of experience as a full stack developer engaged in all phases of the product development lifecycle.   A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and five (5) years of experience as a full stack developer engaged in all phases of the product development lifecycle will substitute for a master’s degree in computer science or related field plus three (3) years of experience as a full stack developer engaged in all phases of the product development lifecycle. 

 

In addition, the employer requires the following:

 

  • Proficiency with: Java and UI Frameworks – Spring, Hibernate, Web services, JSON, Angular, and JavaScript gained through two (2) years of work experience; 
  • Proficiency with database systems (MySQL, Redshift) and ORM tools gained through two (2) years of work experience; 
  • Proficiency in developing and deploying applications in Unix, Windows and AWS cloud services gained through two (2) years of work experience;
  • Proven expertise in web development using HTML, XML, XSL, JSP, CSS, AJAX, JQuery, JavaScript, Angular or similar gained through three (3) years of work experience; 
  • Experience in working with pre-Trading systems, Journal tool and Transition Analysis Tool gained through one (1) year of work experience;
  • Deep understanding of financial concepts and business processes, with strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities gained through three (3) years of work experience;
  • Ability to solve complex system or performance problems; and  
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with non-technical users and development teams to effectively support account management and trading systems. 

 

In accordance with the California pay transparency law, the current annual base salary for this San Francisco, CA, United States-based position is USD $214,000 - $224,000. Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other Natixis sponsored benefit programs. 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently. 

 

Telecommuting is available two (2) days per week.
