Key Responsibilities: 

External Site Management & Community Liaison 
● Actively oversee and maintain the clinical space at the Family Safety Center, ensuring it is fully prepared to meet the unique needs of survivors of domestic violence. 
● Partner with the Family Safety Center, Health Department, and NGH to create an environment where survivors of domestic violence receive trauma-informed, culturally responsive care through coordinated community efforts. 
● Foster strong, collaborative relationships with multidisciplinary partners at all external sites to promote seamless, patient-centered care. 
● Serve as a liaison between NGH and external agencies to support communication, program alignment, and shared outcomes.

Collaboration and Advocacy 
● Attend and actively participate in Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) meetings and Sexual Assault Response Systems Work Groups to ensure alignment with local and national protocols. 
● Engage with the Metro Health Department, Metro Crime Lab, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Crime Lab for collaboration and consultation as needed. 
● Increase consistent participation and strengthen relationships with community partners, policy-makers, and stakeholders to support public policy and standards of care for sexual assault survivors. 
Policy and Protocol Development 
● Update the Tennessee Best Practice Guidelines for Sexual Assault Response Services at least annually, incorporating the latest recommendations from the CDC and the National Protocol for Sexual Assault Medical Forensic Examinations. 
● Ensure the updated protocol receives necessary approvals from the Medical Director, CNO, and Medical Executive Committee. 
● Develop and maintain a documentation system that supports medical forensic exams, facilitates data tracking, and complies with legal requirements.

Clinical Practice Oversight 
● Provide direct clinical supervision of MLE team staff, ensuring adherence with best practices and legal protocols. 
● Conduct peer reviews of case files to ensure consistency in clinical decision-making and documentation. 
● Lead extensive trial preparation efforts, including organizing medical documentation and providing expert testimony as required. 
● Develop and update practice guidelines for photo documentation, establishing clear protocols to ensure consistency across providers, patients, and sites. 

Team Management and Development 
● Recruit, interview and hire qualified Nurse Practitioners while Managing monthly schedules for MLE 
providers, ensuring appropriate staffing and coverage for all shifts. 
● Lead quarterly meetings with on-call providers to review cases, ensure alignment with clinical best 
practices, and address any challenges faced. 
● Organize and lead annual meetings with community partners to foster collaboration and continuous 
improvement in sexual assault response services. 
● Develop and implement continuing education opportunities—both in-person and virtual—to ensure the team remains current in the evolving field of forensic nursing.

Qualifications:

Education & Certifications: MSN, RN, FNP-C, SANE-A    

● Education: 
0 Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing (NP) 
○ Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Tennessee 
○ Certification in Forensic Nursing or SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) 

○ Member of the International Association of Forensic Nurses 

● Experience: 
○ Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner, with at least 2 years in 
forensic nursing or medical-legal examinations. 
○ Prior experience in program management, leadership, or supervisory roles, particularly within a 
healthcare or legal setting. 
○ Experience in grant writing, project management, and community outreach. 
○ Extensive knowledge of national protocols and guidelines for sexual assault medical forensic 
examinations. 

● Skills and Abilities: 
0 Excellent clinical judgment, with a strong understanding of medical legal examinations and the 
complexities of sexual assault cases. 
○ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks 
and priorities simultaneously. 
○ Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work 
collaboratively with diverse teams and community stakeholders. 
○ Ability to train, mentor, and support staff in a clinical environment. 
○ Ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations, with sensitivity to the needs of sexual
