Our Kids specializes in providing medical and psychosocial evaluations for children when there are concerns of child sexual abuse. Serving approximately 750 children in Middle Tennessee each year, Our Kids is a recognized leader in forensic medical evaluations and research in the field. 

The Forensic Social Worker II position is a critical member of our multidisciplinary team, working regular business hours and sharing weekly on-call responsibilities for after-hours care. We are seeking a candidate who possesses strong clinical skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in triage decision-making when needed.
• Collect medical histories from caregivers and children presenting with sexual abuse concerns.
• Prepare children and adolescents for medical examinations.
• Assist medical providers during exams as necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention services.
• Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide related recommendations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, Child Protective Services, and other community partners during sexual abuse investigations.
• Write detailed reports and provide court testimony when required.
• Adapt interactions to meet the developmental, cultural, and special needs of each child and family.

Additional Duties:
• Participate in weekly on-call patient care outside of clinic hours.
• Provide education and training on child sexual abuse topics to physicians, nurses, investigators, and community groups.


Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
1. Master’s Degree in Social Work
2. Eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
3. At least three years of experience interviewing or working with children in the field of child sexual abuse
4. A desire to work with children and families who have experienced trauma
5. Understanding of child sexual abuse dynamics


Preferred Qualifications:
1. Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)
2. Experience with teaching and/or public speaking
3. Spanish language proficiency


Other Requirements:
• After an intensive training period, weekly availability for on-call duties – typically one night per week and one weekend per month.
• Must be up to date on all vaccinations (vaccines can be provided by Nashville General Hospital if needed).
