Description
Strategic Leadership
• Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the hospital’s mission, values, and long term goals.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce trends, organizational culture, and talent optimization.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, retention, and leadership development.
• Drive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) initiatives across the organization.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
• Oversee recruitment strategies to attract top clinical, administrative, and support talent.
• Implement workforce planning models to ensure adequate staffing levels in a 24/7 healthcare environment.
• Partner with department leaders to forecast staffing needs and develop pipelines for hard to fill roles.
Employee Relations & Culture
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable workplace culture.
• Provide leadership on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and performance management.
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and adherence to labor laws and hospital standards.
• Serve as a trusted resource for leaders and employees on sensitive or complex HR issues.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Operations
• Oversee compensation strategy, job classification, and market competitiveness.
• Manage benefits programs, including health plans, retirement, leave administration, and wellness initiatives.
• Ensure efficient HR operations, including onboarding, HRIS management, and personnel records.
• Partner with Finance on budgeting, staffing models, and labor cost management.
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, Joint Commission standards, and hospital policies.
• Lead HR components of audits, accreditation processes, and regulatory reviews.
• Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
• Oversee workplace safety programs in partnership with Environmental Health & Safety.
Organizational Development & Training
• Lead leadership development, succession planning, and training programs.
• Support change management initiatives across the hospital.
• Promote continuous learning and professional growth for all staff.

Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• HR certification (SHRM SCP or SPHR) preferred.
Experience
• 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in healthcare or a complex, regulated environment.
• Demonstrated success leading HR teams and partnering with executive leadership.
• Experience with labor relations, workforce planning, and organizational development.
• Strong understanding of healthcare staffing challenges and regulatory requirements.
