Description

The medical receptionist is primarily responsible for performing reception, clerical, registration and medical record duties and functioning as the focal communication source for the Chemotherapy Clinic under the supervision of the Patient Manager. Works cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, medical and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional patient care delivery. 

Education: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed a unit secretary training program from an approved hospital or vocational school.

Licensure/Certification:  None required.

Experience/Knowledge: Must have one year prior medical receptionist experience and training course work is preferred. Knowledge of hospital and department mission, vision, and values as well as policies and procedures, patient interface procedures and the ability to operate technical equipment as acquired through orientation.
