Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery/NICU
Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery
(Sign-On Bonus up to $30,000 with 1 year of each L&D and NICU experience)
Labor and Delivery/NICU Registered Nurse
The Labor and Delivery/NICU Registered Nurse (RN) position works with mothers during their final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the mother's vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. They are involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of the mothers after delivery.
Labor and Delivery/NICU RN Roles and Responsibilities
- Taking vitals for the mother and baby.
- Administering medication and monitoring contractions.
- Coaching the mother during labor and delivery.
- Identifying complications during labor and delivery.
- Monitoring contractions and caring for the mother after she gives birth.
- Ability to handle emotionally difficult situations and be able to make quick decisions to provide proper medical care.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Understanding applicable state regulations and following compliance practices
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree, Diploma, or Baccalaureate Degree program in Nursing Preferred.
- Current Licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state.
- One year of clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery required and Operating Room (OR) preferred.
- Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) and Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) preferred.
- Employee must have valid BLS upon hire. ACLS, NRP, CPI and STABLE required within 90 days of hire.
- Labor and Delivery and NICU Experience
- 2nd Assistant preferred.
