Process Support Specialist
Description
At NGH, the Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for leading and managing process improvement projects across the ambulatory clinics. They will collaborate with both clinic and business department units to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop project plans, and track and report on project progress and results. The ideal candidate will have experience leading process improvement projects, excellent project management skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. They will also possess effective communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
1. Understand and document current processes, workflows, and associated metrics.
2. Analyze data to identify process improvement opportunities.
3. Develop hypotheses for how potential improvements can be implemented and measured.
4. Design and execute experiments to test the validity of hypotheses.
5. Implement solutions that have been proven effective through experimentation.
6. Train and support employees in the use of new or improved processes.
7. Monitor process performance metrics to ensure that improvements are maintained over time.
8. Prepare reports documenting process improvements and their impacts.
9. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
10. Serve as a subject matter expert on process improvement methodologies.
11. Stay up-to-date on best practices in process improvement and share knowledge with team members.
12. Participate in process improvement initiatives across the organization.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field OR
- 3+ years of experience in process improvement, quality assurance, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Training and Experience:
- Process improvement specialists typically receive on-the-job training.
- Familiarity with the company's specific processes, procedures, computer software, and EMR systems is required.
Certifications and Licenses:
- While certifications are not mandatory, they can enhance job opportunities and earning potential for process improvement specialists.
Skills:
- Analysis: Ability to review data, identify patterns, trends, and useful information for process improvement.
- Communication: Effective communication with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand and develop new processes.
