Description

Chaplain provides spiritual support to patients, families and hospital staff in accordance with individual needs and preferences. Provides spiritual/emotional support during regular patient rounds and is available on an emergency on-call basis. Recruits and supervises additional volunteer clergy with CPE training to meet needs of the population 24/7.  Maintains relationships with key leaders and staff, impacts strategic direction, organizational development and mission related initiatives of Nashville General Hospital and Nashville General Hospital Foundation.

Education: Master’s degree in divinity, theology and related field from an accredited school.

Licensure/Certification: CPE. (Certified Pastoral Education approved by the ACPE), Minimum of 4 Units

Board Certification from the APC, NACC, CASC or NAJC (or certificate obtained within 12 months of hire, risking termination if not obtained)    

Experience/Knowledge: Proven two years’ pastoral experience in health care setting.
