Registered Nurse (RN) - House Supervisor
Nashville General Hospital is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) - House Supervisor   

The House Bed Manager is responsible for promoting & maintaining quality patient care through effective management of the total patient care services during on an assigned shift. The supervisor receives and processes bed requests, reviews admission order for appropriate status, obtain pre-certification and provides payer notifications as required.  Coordinates admission of patients with patient access, physicians, nurses and other ancillary services.  Accepts verbal orders as needed. Responsible for the implementation, training and usage of the bed management tracking system.  The Supervisor has the authority and responsibility for administrative decisions and abilities to correctly perform duties.   

 House Supervisor RN Roles and Responsibilities  

  • Communicating with patients, nurses, other healthcare professionals, family members, and visitors
  • Ensuring quality healthcare for all patients
  • Supervising and supporting nursing staff
  • Reporting nursing activity to senior management
  • Communicating updated information to department and staff
  • Guiding and advising nursing staff with clinical instructions

Required Skills & Qualifications:  

  • Graduate of an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred
  • At least 3-5 years' experience in the field of bed management including relevant management experience in utilization management and resource management preferred. 
  • Must possess a minimum of (5) years clinical experience in an acute care facility 
  • Computer and keyboarding skills required 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in stressful situations while achieving outcomes
  • Possess a current licensure or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Tennessee or compact state. ACLS and BLS required
