What the Job Looks Like

As the HR Manager, you’ll take ownership for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of LCA. All HR functions from succession planning, talent and performance management, employee engagement, labor relations, compensation and benefits, to policy management and beyond, while eliminating risks and remaining compliant with all legal and statutory requirements fall under your oversight. As the driving force of a small team, you’ll wear many hats each day:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand LCA’s goals and provide HR guidance and with regards to strategic decisions as well as day-to-day operations
  • Offer insights to financial decisions as they relate to benefits, costs, etc. creating reports and means to regularly communicate KPI’s
  • Plan, develop, implement, and lead policies, processes, and training consistently across the organization
  • Stay abreast of trends, best practices, new technologies, and regulatory changes
  • Maintain successful labor-management relations and participate in collective bargaining negotiations


Important Qualifications to your Success

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in HR or a HR related field
  • Certifications: SPHR/PHR and/or SHRM-SCP/SHRM-CP required
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage change through new systems and processes
    • Demonstrated experience in a union environment resolving labor disputes and grievances, representing management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements, mediation, and arbitration
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
    • Excellent communication skills and comfortable with presenting to employee and leadership groups
    • Outstanding interpersonal skills being able to manage sensitive and confidential situations
