What You’ll Do
As a Maintenance Worker 1, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely. From maintaining equipment to landscaping and snow removal, you'll be involved in a wide range of tasks, ensuring that everything from our processing equipment to the grounds around the facility is in top shape. Here are some of the responsibilities you’ll take on:
  • Grounds & Facility Maintenance: Perform landscaping duties, mow grass, spray for weeds, and maintain the plant grounds to keep them tidy and functional.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Assist with cleaning, painting, and performing minor repairs on process equipment, tools, and buildings.
  • Operational Support: Help with rod cleaning, flush catch basins, mix cements, and assist with sewer jet operation. You'll also support Maintenance Mechanics and Tradesmen as needed.
  • Snow & Trash Removal: When winter hits, you’ll be our go-to person for salting, shoveling, and clearing snow. You’ll also be responsible for sweeping streets and collecting trash around the plant.
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and effective service to customers and colleagues alike. Your role will contribute to the plant’s smooth operation and public satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
Along with your skills and experience, we appreciate a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. Here’s what we’re looking for in the ideal candidate:
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent  
  • Experience: Prior experience with hand tools, power tools, landscaping, and snow removal equipment
  • Skills: Ability to handle various tools and equipment, including lawnmowers, snowplows, shovels, and power tools. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, functional environment!
  • Special Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with Class C endorsement (to drive light company trucks)
    • Forklift certification (or the willingness to get certified).
    • Ongoing safety training.
  • Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00pm 
  • Physical Demands
    This position is physically demanding. You should be comfortable with activities like walking, bending, lifting (up to 80 lbs.), and using tools. It’s a great fit if you enjoy staying active and working outdoors. Be prepared for tasks that require you to move around, work in various weather conditions, and adapt to changing environments.
