Senior Digital Marketing Specialist

Marketing Saco, Maine

Description

Senior Digital Marketing Specialist
Hybrid | Southern Maine Area | Full-Time
CBC Automotive is a strategic marketing agency built for the automotive world—fast, results-driven, and unapologetically focused on performance. We're not a conventional agency. Our clients are dealerships and automotive groups that measure everything, expect clear ROI, and operate in one of the most competitive, calendar-driven industries. Our portfolio includes multi-billion-dollar companies, dealerships who at #1 nationwide, and other industry leaders that expect results.

We're growing our team and looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist who doesn't just understand digital marketing—who lives in it. Someone who doesn't just execute, but thinks, builds, and eventually leads. If you're the kind of person who wakes up curious about a Google Ads change that dropped overnight, can translate a complex data story into a confident client conversation, and thrives in an environment where no two months are the same, keep reading.
Is This You?
You're not looking for a job where you wait to be told what to do. You bring strategic depth, technical fluency, and the confidence to hold a difficult client conversation on a bad month—because you understand what's in your control and what isn't, and you can communicate that clearly.
You also know when to laugh. This work is intense, and the best people here have thick skin, good judgment, and a genuine sense of humor about the ride.
What You'll Do
This is a 50/50 role—equal parts analytical depth and communication confidence. You'll work closely with Bob (our digital lead) and a tight core team, touching roughly half the company on a day-to-day basis. Specifically:
  • Own the execution and analysis of Google Ads campaigns—Search, Performance Max, Display, and beyond
  • Manage and optimize Meta advertising strategies for automotive clients
  • Interpret GA4 data and turn performance into clear, confident client conversations
  • Serve as the internal expert on digital platforms—supporting account managers and guiding client discussions
  • Navigate the nuance of local advertising vs. national brand performance—and help clients understand the difference
  • Build and refine repeatable processes, then train the team on how to use them
  • Identify opportunities and act on them proactively—nobody here is handing out to-do lists
  • Grow, over time, into a leadership role on a senior team that is actively looking to add a 5th seat
What You Need to Succeed Here
Non-negotiables:
  • Deep, current, hands-on Google Ads experience—not from two years ago, not cursory. Google's ecosystem has changed dramatically in the last six months and will keep changing.
  • GA4 proficiency as a daily working tool, not passing familiarity
  • Meta advertising experience—active campaign management, not background awareness
  • The communication confidence to hold difficult client conversations and come out the other side with the relationship intact
  • A structured, calendar-driven approach to managing a high-volume monthly workload
  • Emotional resilience—you don't take client pressure personally and you don't let it erode your confidence
Strongly preferred:
  • Background in a high-accountability performance environment—automotive dealerships, agency work, e-commerce, or any setting where you're measured against competitors and results are non-negotiable
  • Experience building or improving team processes and training others to use them
  • Ability to read market share trends, competitor context, and external factors that affect campaign performance
This role is not for you if:
  • Your marketing background is primarily grassroots, nonprofit, or brand awareness—this is a capitalistic, ROI-driven environment and that's a significant shift
  • You need direction and structure to know what to work on—this team gives you rope, not a playbook
  • You want strict 9-to-5 hours with no flexibility—clients don't observe those hours and neither does the work
  • You're set in your ways. CBC does things differently than most agencies. That's the point. Adapting to that—and eventually adding to it—is part of the job
About CBC Automotive
CBC Automotive is a strategic marketing agency that has stood the test of time because of how it's built. We're not a big shop with hundreds of employees and a standardized playbook. We're a tight team of entrepreneurial, senior-level people who each carry real weight and do their best work because they're trusted to.
We're also a company that takes care of its people—in the way that actually counts. We've had team members go through serious personal hardships and we don't do the bare minimum. We rally. That's not in a brochure somewhere; it's just how this team operates.
Nobody on the current leadership team came in with the role they have now. The people who've thrived here did so by doing the work, earning the trust, and finding their own way.
What We Offer
  • Salary: $75,000–$100,000+, depending on experience
  • Annual discretionary year-end bonus
  • Dollar-for-dollar 401(k) match up to 10%
  • Highly competitive, flexible health plan
  • Uncapped PTO
  • 60–80% remote for candidates based in the southern Maine area
  • Agency day is Tuesday—in-office presence expected weekly, with senior team members typically in 2–3 days
  • Minimal travel—occasional day trips to local New England clients, no overnights required
  • A clear, real path to senior leadership for the right person
