Grants and Contracts Specialist

Non-Profit Easton, Pennsylvania

Description

Strong writing and communication skills, the ability to capture the right voice for the right audience, a desire for growth, and a “do-good” mentality.

Did we just describe you? If so, you may be a great fit for our Grants and Contracts Specialist role at Third Street Alliance for Women & Children!

As a Grants and Contracts Specialist here at Third Street Alliance, you’ll exemplify those traits while using your experience to write government, foundation, and corporate grant proposals to generate revenue to support our programs. We have existing ongoing partnerships but there are even more opportunities to expand our donor network in the Lehigh Valley. Experience in needs assessment, data analysis, and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape of the area will be highly valuable.

What you’ll do

This is an important role to our continued success because, without grants and contracts, we wouldn’t be able to make the impact we do in the lives of our clients. Day to day you can expect the following:

  • Grant Writing: Generate revenue through timely submission of well-researched, well-written, and well-documented grant proposals and required supporting documentation.
  • Contract Renewals: Understand and format contracts and contract renewals according to the current grants calendar.
  • Donor Relations: Research and identify potential new donors and fundraising opportunities that match agency priorities while creating and maintaining relationships with existing funders.
  • Reporting: Write, develop, prepare, and submit reports for government agencies and offices maintaining all necessary documentation.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely alongside the Director of Development, Communications Associate, Finance team, and Program Directors to help develop program assessment tools, gather funding outcomes, and provide data around new service cost information and budgets.

What you need to thrive in this role

A true passion for supporting a good cause and advocating for people and services that can’t advocate for themselves will go a long way in this role. You’ll also need:

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in grant writing and grant administration experience in a social services agency. Must be able to synthesize complex information into clear and concise letters of inquiry, grant proposals, funder reports, and briefing papers.
  • Education/Certification: A degree preferred but not required with relevant experience.
  • Technology: Proficiency and comfortability in database management and Microsoft Office programs
  • Skills required:
    • A positive attitude
    • Strong writing, organization, and research skills
    • Time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met
    • Adaptability to changing priorities, especially as new fundraising opportunities arise
    • Attention to detail and confidentiality
    • The ability to work independently, as a team, and effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  •  Location:  41 North 3rd Street in Easton, PA, rare close-by travel may occur to attend conferences, trainings, or meetings
  • Schedule:  Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
