Technical Sales Consultant - Eastern PA

Sales Allentown, Pennsylvania

Description

Your industry experience is your competitive advantage. Put it to work in a career that pays you what you're worth.
You've spent time in the trenches — on the field, at the total station, or behind a GIS screen. You understand what surveyors, engineers, and construction professionals actually need, not just what the brochure says. That insight is exactly what makes someone exceptional in this role.
Keystone Precision Solutions (KPS) is looking for a Sales Consultant to drive growth across Eastern Pennsylvania. You'll work directly with clients in the field, understanding their workflow challenges and showing them how KPS — through Trimble's industry-leading instruments and geospatial software — can help them work more efficiently and profitably.
If you've been thinking about a career move that puts your technical knowledge and people skills to work, and you're ready to build something that's truly yours — keep reading.
About Keystone Precision Solutions
KPS has been the premier provider of measurement, survey, construction, and engineering solutions in the Northeast for over 37 years. As an authorized Trimble dealer, we partner with some of the most skilled professionals in the industry. Our customers come back to us because they trust us — and that trust starts with people like you, who know what it means to get the job done right.
What Your Days Will Look Like
This is an active, field-first role. You'll be out of the office more than you're in it — and for the right person, that's the best part:
  • Build and work your pipeline: Identify new business opportunities through networking, prospecting, and your own knowledge of the Eastern PA market across survey, engineering, and construction.
  • Demonstrate the tech in person: Conduct live, hands-on demos of Trimble instruments and geospatial software at client sites. Your technical background means you can speak their language and earn their trust quickly.
  • Manage deals start to finish: Own the full sales cycle — quotes, negotiation, closing, and pipeline tracking — staying organized and accountable to your goals.
  • Show up consistently for your clients: Regular field visits, prompt follow-up, and genuine care for the outcome. That's how you build a territory that grows year over year.
  • Support what you sell: First-level post-sale technical support and tight collaboration with the internal KPS team keeps your customers running smoothly — and keeps them coming back.
  • Keep learning: KPS invests in ongoing Trimble and manufacturer training so you stay current and competitive.
What Will Make You Successful Here
We're looking for someone who brings real credibility to client conversations. Here's the profile we have in mind:
A background in the industry: Direct experience as a surveyor, survey technician (field or office), or GIS professional is strongly preferred — and will accelerate your success dramatically.
Sales skills that close: You've prospected, managed a pipeline, and closed deals. You know how to handle objections without taking them personally, and you know how to ask for the business.
Communication that builds trust: You're clear, confident, and easy to talk to — whether you're presenting to a one-person shop or a larger engineering firm.
CRM and tech comfort: Experience with Salesforce or Sage CRM is a plus. You're also solid with standard tools like MS Office and Teams.
Independence and ownership: You plan your week, manage your territory, and hold yourself accountable. You don't wait to be told what to do.
Willingness to travel: 60%+ travel throughout Eastern Pennsylvania is part of the job. A valid driver's license and reliable approach to the road are a must.
What KPS Offers You
  • Base salary of $65,000–$75,000, based on your sales experience, survey background, and Trimble knowledge — the stronger your acumen, the stronger your starting point.
  • Year 1 additional total potential earnings of $15,000–$20,000 paid quarterly. It's real money, not a someday promise — and it's structured so you're earning it from the beginning.
  • Company vehicle, laptop, and company credit card — the tools to work your territory the right way, without out-of-pocket costs holding you back.
  • Full benefits package — medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k)
  • Paid time off including vacation, personal days, and community service days
  • Trimble and manufacturer training and certifications — we invest in your growth
  • Autonomy to run your territory the way you see fit, backed by a team that has your back
