What the Job Looks Like    
As our Safety Manager, you’ll develop and execute our safety & risk management programs, including employee health and safety, emergency response planning, and system security.  You’ll also coordinate activities with other departments, divisions, and external agencies and will partner on complex support to the Chief Financial Officer.

  • Work to ensure the protection of the people, property, and resources of LCA from risk  
  • Manage projects and programs, implement loss prevention measures, ensure compliance with laws, assess system vulnerabilities, develop emergency response plans, and provide risk management assistance 
  • Administer policies and procedures, recommend goals and objectives, and forecast funds needed for assigned programs 
  • Collaborate with our HR Manager to handle ADA-related issues, monitor medical exams, and coordinate programs for employees such as pre-employment physicals, fit-for-duty exams, and drug and alcohol testing 
  • Maintain injury/illness prevention programs, investigate incidents, and recommend measures to prevent recurrence 
  • Oversee insurance matters, safety program activities, and regulatory compliance  
  • Work with contractors and brokers, conduct safety inspections, provide training, and update safety programs  
  • Participate as a key member of EHS Steering Committee meetings  
  • Serve on boards and committees, stay current on trends, prepare correspondence and present reports to groups    
    
Important Qualifications for Your Success    
  • Experience: 5+ years’ experience in increasingly responsible safety or risk management experience including administrative and supervisory responsibility 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree with a focus on safety, risk management, business, public administration, or related field preferred 
  • Skills:  
    • Strong verbal communication is a must in this role, as is written communication   
    • Prepare clear and concise administrative reports   
    • Work well independently and as part of a team  
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving  
    • Demonstrate an awareness and appreciation of the cultural diversity of the community

  • Starting salary in the $80,000 - $90,000/yr range (depending on experience)
