Chief Operating Officer (Planned Transition to President)
Description
Chief Operating Officer (Planned Transition to President)
This is not a typical COO role – it’s an opportunity to step into a ~$20M business and grow into leading it.
As a Chief Operating Officer at Kitchen Magic, located in Nazareth, PA, you will partner directly with the President and take a clear path toward becoming the next leader of the company.
Kitchen Magic is a 45-year, family-owned kitchen and bath business built on craftsmanship, customer trust, and long-tenured teams. As the company looks to scale toward ~$40M over the next several years, we are seeking a leader who can own the business day to day while growing into full company leadership over time.
This is a hands-on, in-person leadership role where success depends on your ability to drive performance, lead through people, and earn trust across a deeply established organization.
What You’ll Do
You will step into a broad leadership role with accountability across the full business, including:
- Own overall business performance across sales, marketing, operations, and delivery, leading a team of ~7 functional leaders
- Drive revenue growth in a lead-driven, direct-to-consumer model, including oversight of marketing investment and conversion performance
- Lead the full customer journey, from lead generation and in-home consultative sales through installation and customer experience
- Drive operational execution and scalability, particularly in scheduling, install coordination, and project delivery
- Develop and lead a cross-functional leadership team, building alignment, accountability, and clarity across departments
- Partner directly with the President on strategic direction and succession, taking on increasing ownership over time
- Strengthen a relationship-driven culture while introducing the structure and accountability needed to support growth
What We’re Looking For
This role is designed for a leader who can step in with confidence today and grow into full business ownership over time. Success in this role often comes from a combination of:
- Demonstrated ownership of a full business or significant business unit, including responsibility for revenue growth, profitability, leadership development, and cross-functional decision making
- A genuine interest in learning a business deeply and growing into ownership
- Experience working within a consultative, customer-driven sales model, with familiarity across lead generation, conversion, and customer acquisition
- A background in consumer-facing environments, such as home improvement, design-build, or similar industries
- Comfort operating in a hands-on, in-person leadership role, staying close to teams, customers, and day-to-day execution
- Exposure to growth and operational complexity, including building structure, strengthening teams, and improving processes as a business scales
- A leadership style grounded in trust, clarity, and accountability, particularly in environments with established, long-tenured teams
What We Offer You
We believe strong businesses are built by people who feel trusted, supported, and challenged. We are proud to offer:
- Competitive compensation (targeting ~$200k in year one, with meaningful upside with company growth and as the role transitions to President)
- Clear, intentional path to the President and long‑term leadership
- Company‑wide profit‑sharing program tied to business performance
- The opportunity to lead a respected brand with real autonomy
- Medical, Dental, Vision, and Telehealth benefits
- 401k and profit-sharing programs
- A deeply loyal team and a culture known for transparency, trust, and being awarded as a Top Lehigh Valley Workplace for the past 11 years!
