What you’ll do
As a Fire Suppression System Technician, you will have a unique opportunity to make a significant and meaningful contribution to the success of George A. Kint, Inc. and its customers through the following core job responsibilities:
- Install, service, inspect, and repair kitchen fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, and exit signs.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of NFPA codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Identify any potential NFPA codes and manufacturing violations.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues when necessary to ensure compliance.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you need to thrive in this role
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes required.
- Minimum of 1 year of commercial van driving experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 75lbs with appropriate equipment to assist as part of normal daily job function.
- Current or prior experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, meters, and pipe threading machines.
- Must possess a current, valid driver’s license.
- Willing and able to work a rotating on call schedule as well as flexible hours including early morning, nights, and weekends.
- Able to travel (day trips and occasional overnight).
- Well versed with the use of smart phones and other electronic devices such as iPads and computers.
- Ability to successfully complete basic and recurring training and demonstrate knowledge retention.
- Proven ability to work independently, with a team, report to management, and communicate professionally with customers and dispatchers.
- Safety focused work style combined with a strong work ethic.
