GENERAL SUMMARY
We are looking for a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work at Foster Family Urgent Care in Traverse City. Our team includes physicians, advanced practice providers, registered nurses, medical assistants, radiology technicians, and nurse assistants who work together to care for patients in the community. Our clinic is open every day of the year from 9am – 8pm. During a 12-hour shift, the PRN provider can expect to see around thirty or more patients, depending on the season.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of how to evaluate, diagnose, and treat common injuries and illnesses. You must be comfortable working in a busy environment and skilled in performing basic in-office procedures. You will care for patients of all ages.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
- Education / Training:
- Physician Assistant:
- A Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA (Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants) accredited institution or PA Certificate Program.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant by the AAPA (American Academy of Physician Assistants)
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant by the State of Michigan
- Nurse Practitioner:
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
- Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Association
- Physician Assistant:
- Work Experience:
- Previous experience in urgent care or emergency department is desirable.
- Certification, Licensure, Registration:
- Board eligible/certified to practice in the State of Michigan.
- Current BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.
Candidate must apply for and be granted appropriate clinical privileges through MMC’s normal credentialing processes before rendering services.
