The Preadmission Planner is a Registered Nurse (RN) who obtains medication and health history information from patients over the phone scheduled for surgery or a procedure. The RN has job responsibilities in care coordination, patient and family education, and ensuring the chart contains the necessary information and documentation. Responsibilities include ordering labs and testing per anesthesia guidelines/physician order, reviewing labs/testing results, and working with office staff, physicians, and Chart Prep staff.

What’s Required:
 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required.
  • Project leadership experience required.
  • Previous Preadmission Planning Preferred
  • Experience caring for adult surgical patients within the last 5 years required. Examples include, but are not limited to: Surgical Unit, OR, Perianesthesia Unit or Ambulatory Surgery.
  • Experience caring for pediatric patients preferred. Examples include, but are not limited to: Pediatric Unit, OR, Perianesthesia Unit, Urgent Care, and Emergency Department.
