Description
The On Call Chaplain position entails:
- Covering 1-2 nights a week on call from home 7pm-7am.
- One weekend a month on call from home Friday 7 pm. – Sunday 7 pm.
- Available as needed, and on occasion to work during a weekday and visit patients and respond to pages and phone calls.
Education and Experience
- Required: Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology
- Required: Experience working with patients and family members having a health crisis as well as death and dying experience
- Preferred: Master’s Degree of Divinity or equivalent, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and Hospital Chaplain experience
Min/Preferred Certification, Licensure, Registration
- Meets MMC established requirements for proof of health status.
- Good standing with candidate’s denominational authority.

Essential Duties
- Provides spiritual care of patients/families/caregivers in the inpatient setting when needed and appropriate services are rendered in a timely manner.
- Responds to emergencies, trauma and end of life needs as requested.
- Provides direct spiritual care to patients/families/caregivers when local clergy are not available.
- Documents direct services.
