JOB SUMMARY:  

 

Supports an environment in which patients and families are encouraged to participate in care and decision making at the level they choose. Responsible for coordinating quality projects, payer quality programs and incentives and developing action plans to ensure practice processes are in place to capture available monies. The Quality Incentive Coordinator will be responsible for locating specified clinical data for abstraction from various forms of Electronic Health Record (EHR) through intensive medical record review. Abstracts clinical information from paper or electronic medical record and populates data collection tool to support compliance with quality measures for our Medicare, Medicaid, commercial and/or other pay-for-performance initiatives. Demonstrates and supports methods and behavior consistent with Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital’s values and mission in daily services, actions, and activities.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in business or related field.
  • Strong customer service, public speaking, and writing skills in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently as well as a team player to accomplish goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two years of healthcare industry experience.
  • Certified medical assistant or other clinically equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and other ambulatory quality measures.
  • Good working knowledge of computer systems, such as Word and Excel.
  • Experience using EHR technology, such as NextGen, Allscipts, eClincal Works, and Cerner Powerchart.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordination of quality projects: payer quality programs and incentives and develop action plan to ensure practice processes in place to capture available monies.
  • Reviews and contributes to assessment and appropriateness of provider offices working closely with office administration and managers.
  • Develops and maintains an atmosphere of personalized service through individual contact with key healthcare administrators, providers, community leaders, and individuals throughout the community.
  • Collaborates with Physician Hospital Organization, administration, providers, and insurers on current and future quality and process improvement initiatives. Develops individualized goals.
  • Evaluates plans to meet triple aim of cost, quality, and patient satisfaction, demonstrates creative alternatives and proactive approach in problem solving.
  • Liaison between hospital, office, and contracted payers, vendors, community resources, and other providers.
  • Ability to delegate appropriate tasks to members of the team and follow through to make sure tasks were completed.
  • Coordination of special event/projects to support the quality goals.
  • Select priorities and organize work and time to meet them.
