Summary:  The Innovation Center Manager is responsible for organizing and executing a market-leading experience for customers looking to create new products and packages
 
Time Utilization:  This is a hands-on position. Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate customer schedules. This position may require occasional travel.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned:
 
  1. Organize, maintain schedule and host customer visits to the Innovation Center in close collaboration with the Customer Experience Manager.
  2. Demonstrate a high quality of standard in the technical development of customer projects that involve the Innovation Center, from conception to execution.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams on customer prototype design and construction.
  4. Develop and manage Innovation Center technicians to deliver professional equipment demonstrations to support the MULTIVAC value proposition.
  5. Coordinate resources and supplies necessary for executing equipment demonstrations with a high degree of quality assurance.
  6. Establish and manage Innovation Center processes and communication standards.
  7. Establish and manage technical documentation protocol.
  8. Proactively seek and share opportunities for improvement in customer experience.
  9. Ensure all equipment safety protocols are followed.
  10. Ensure Innovation Center and Show room equipment is operational and ready at any time for customer demonstrations.
  11. Professional documentation of project development and technical details for all activity within C4C.
  12. To be an application expert resource available to the organization to share your subject matter expertise to support our business activities such as inhouse Factory Acceptance Tests.
  13. Maintain a clean, organized and properly functioning sample making facility, processing room, equipment show room and storage area. 
  14. Coordinate logistics for film and sample products needed for sample package testing.
  15. Be an active student of packaging industry and keep apprised of packaging trends in the marketplace.

Education/Experience: 
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related technical discipline and five years technical experience in the packaging industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Language Ability: 
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organizations.
 
Math Ability: 
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic geometry.
 
Reasoning Ability:  
Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
 
Computer Skills:  
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.  
 
Certificates and Licenses:  
Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:  
Directly supervises associates.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Developing a team through coaching, counselling, and mentoring.  Ensures effective communication within department and conducts follows-up appropriately.
