Key Account Manager - Packaging Materials - West Coast

Description

Manages sales activities of materials business unit by selling materials to specific Key Customers for which MULTIVAC has distribution rights, as defined by management to food and non-food customers/prospects in a geographically defined region or for a combination geographically defined region and key accounts. Responsible for complete sales process including but not limited to prospecting, reporting, quoting and closing business in accordance with sales budget. 
 
This position will travel up to 80%. Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate trials, shows and events schedules.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
 
  • Identify potential sales opportunities within the assigned market and Key Account responsibilities by making personal sales calls, following up on leads provided by the company and by any other prospecting methods as appropriate.
 
  • Utilize resources provided by the company to further the sales process including marketing tools, demonstration facilities and other sales associates as necessary.
 
  • Attend all material test trials as allowed by prospects or customers and use the opportunity to strengthen relationships with operations teams and investigate further opportunities for business.
 
  • Work closely with Customer Support Administrators, Materials Pricing Analyst, and MRP Supply Planner as it relates to materials forecasting, quoting, order processing, trials etc. according to established procedures.
 
  • Work closely with the Materials Application Specialist for necessary film trials, product testing, product development and all quality-related issues.
 
  • Utilize CRM and ensure planning tools and calendars are properly populated according to established procedures.
 
  • Work with equipment sales and management teams as necessary to ensure problem-free material performance and to promote sales to target accounts in defined territory or to defined key accounts.
 
  • Provide all necessary information and documentation for the completion of proposals and orders; take responsibility for managing customer expectations as they relate to trials and orders.
 
  • Act as the Business Manager for the assigned Key Accounts and handle all issues from initial trials to receivables collections and quality issues, in close partnership with all appropriate departments within MULTIVAC and partners.
 
  • Monitor and report competitive activity in area of responsibility.
 
  • Operate within annual expense budget and work to meet established individual sales budget.
 
  • Attend and participate in trade shows, sales meetings, industry meetings and other activities as directed by management.
 
  • Act as a support agent for other Regional Sales Managers Materials.
 
  • Be an active student of the industry and of good selling practices
 
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of five years’ sales experience in one or more of the following: 1) Capital Equipment, 2) Film run on Multivac type equipment, 3) in the packaging industry.  Previous Multivac sales experience in Regional Sales Manager role or related position preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:
Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position.
