Summary: The success of this individual will be measured through the safe and timely unloading, moving, placement and shipping of commercial equipment. This will require knowledge and application of machine rigging through the use of fork trucks, straps, bands, chains, dollies and other weight handling gear to move and position heavy loads. Other responsibilities include maintaining the accurate and orderly inventory of our machinery and related components, coordination and follow through of all material movements from the warehouse through our manufacturing process, and keeping the warehouse storage and staging areas clean and organized. This role will work closely with logistics management, inventory management, as well as SAP Analysts
- Uncrate and facilitate placement of machines into our Manufacturing Center. Transport equipment and accessories as required adhering to the published schedule.
- Crate, skid, package and document outbound shipments of machines and accessories. This includes applying carpentry and machinery rigging skills requiring the use of saws, drills, cutting torches, slings, hoists, banding machines, etc. Ensure items are crated properly for safe travel to ultimate destination minimizing occurrence of damage or loss.
- Arrange shipping and delivery of equipment through trucking companies (3PL provider) taking into account customer’s expectations, tradeshow requirements, and shipping requirements. Perform internal audit of machines and equipment to ensure shipment is complete according to documentation received.
- Consistently pull and post inventory according to picking documents. Confirm proper quantities, product identification, serial numbers and batch numbers. Research and report inventory discrepancies to the General Manager so corrections can be made.
- Set up locations in SAP for new stock and ensure materials are tagged and identified properly. If stock is moved make sure location changes are registered in SAP immediately. Execute the cycle counting and recounting process as assigned.
- Ensure equipment is consumed to the appropriate project before the items are moved from the warehouse to production or staging areas. Properly notate project documentation and post on production board in the warehouse office.
- Begin every day with the warehouse in “Show Shape” with floors, carts, tables, supplies and equipment clean and orderly as approved by the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor.
- Research and react to open inbound and outbound deliveries that are aged and take the necessary steps to insure they ship to the customer
- Maintain SAP ERP and EWM Material Master Data such as pick notes, putaway indicators, replenishment minimums and maximums
- Correct ERP/EWM interface errors together with the SAP Analyst
- Convert non-SAP shipping requests into Miscellaneous Deliveries

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two years warehouse/material related experience. Requires previous experience in handling of commercial equipment with fork trucks, rollers, ropes, chains and other weight handling gear to lift, move and position heavy loads. Carpentry, crating and power tool proficiency needed to block equipment, build and repair crates, pallets and framing. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems is helpful. Ability to operate a counterbalance forklift, pallet jack, and narrow aisle reach truck.
The demonstrated ability to use tape measures, calculate square footage and define geometric angles. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Determine safe lift point for irregular loads.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Inventory and manufacturing software, order processing systems, and/or prior experience in SAP ERP and EWM/WM preferred.
Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position. Must be forklift certification eligible.
