This position directs and manages effective supply chain strategies and operations to ensure all goods are delivered in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. 
 
Time Utilization: This position may travel up to 15% of the time.  Normal business hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm.  
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
 
  • Leads, directs, supports and oversees teams responsible for warehousing, fulfillment, intralogistics and inventory management at the Kansas City Warehouse and inventory management at five regional 3PL warehouses
  • Strategically plan for and manage a team responsible for international and domestic logistics of spare parts, machines and consumables, ensuring timely, cost-effective movement of products and compliance with customs regulations
  • Select and manage performance and relationships with supply chain vendors
  • Optimize supply chain operations by evaluating logistics processes for strength and weaknesses, and recommend and implement solutions ranging from minor changes to full restructuring
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for productivity and accuracy, and implement process improvements as needed to achieve and maintain KPI targets
  • Develop cost-effective solutions to increase efficiency in storage systems and inventory control
  • Collaborate with other directors across departments to ensure appropriate service levels are met and to plan for upcoming projects
 
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related field and a minimum of 7 years of management experience in inventory controls, international and domestic logistics, supply chain and inventory management systems; or equivalent combination of education and experience 
 
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
 
 
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point; and have working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP-ERP and SAP-EWM.
 
Certificates and Licenses:
Current valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel as required by position.  APICS certification or equivalent body of knowledge associated with manufacturing and production activities preferred.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises a team.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include hiring and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; applying recognition and discipline as appropriate; addressing complaints and resolving problems; and developing associates through coaching, counseling, and mentoring.  Ensures effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
