We are currently looking for a Regional Category Manager - Indirect Materials to join our team, supporting our EMEA & APAC activities.  The Regional Category Manager is collaborating with the Global Category Manager while defining a sourcing strategy and responsible for executing an aligned sourcing strategy for respective indirect-materials-commodities and suppliers while maintaining continuity of supply and lowest total cost of ownership for Multi-Color Corporation (MCC) and its customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Aligns sourcing strategies with Global Category Leader for assigned commodities utilizing appropriate sourcing tools, aligning key business stakeholder needs, identifying supply alternatives, and recommending the sourcing approach while establishing the project plan/timeline to deliver an effective sourcing solution
  • Manage categories of high complexity and fragmentation (MRO, Energy, Tooling & Equipment, CAPEX, Travel, Services etc.)
  • Will provide in alignment with Global Category Leader strategic decision-support and recommendations to business stakeholders to maximize and ensure the value of supplier performance within the region of responsibility (50+ sites)
  • Deliver cost savings, operational efficiencies, and/or added value by leading cross functional stakeholders through fact/evidence-based, data-driven sourcing initiatives
  • Market and competitive analysis, creation of leverage, and professional negotiations to secure the best quality, service, and cost to meet MCC’s business needs
  • Must be comfortable with operating in a continuous improvement atmosphere and achieving year over year results.
  • Design and manage relevant tender and supplier selection processes
  • Forecast, report and deliver cost savings for relevant region, in-line with targets and expectations
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance and contract execution at a regional level, taking relevant action where necessary to ensure the proper performance according to contractual agreements, and identifying risks before they become a reality
  • Negotiating contracts and defining terms of business and formulating SLA’s, looking out for the best interests of the organization by reducing exposure to future risk
  • Review market trends and developments and feedback market intelligence, in relation to indirect materials, to relevant stakeholders, particularly any changes that might affect the supply and demand of indirect materials
  • Maintain a supply of indirect materials which meets the relevant stakeholders expectations, taking into account quality, timeliness, ethics and sustainability
  • Source new products and/or suppliers as appropriate
  • Continuously review market prices for indirect materials to ensure the company always receives the best price, in conjunction with service and added-value opportunities
  • Work within a matrix-style structure, building effective relationships with all internal stakeholders, in order to align and support their own agendas
  • Ensure contingency plans are in place to successfully meet rapid demand changes and/or supplier failures
  • Support the development of technology and/ or tool requirements
  • Job Functions include:

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Location: Poland or Romania
  • 5+ years of progressive, sourcing, and contracting experience, including extensive experience developing and executing strategic sourcing plans
  • 3+ years of experience in working with teams who use these advanced analytical techniques
  • Have advanced knowledge and training in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and deep analytical skills
  • Experience with supplier scorecards and key performance indicators and can run required reports
  • Previous experience in Visio, SQL Server would be an added advantage
  • Experience with sourcing fundamentals and a demonstrated track record of facilitating and executing successful sourcing initiatives (including thorough understanding of contracting methods and procedures, techniques of contract writing, purchasing law, and ethics)
  • Must possess excellent influencing skills as well as strong interpersonal communication skills for building relationships with internal stakeholders and supplier executives at all levels
  • Must be a skilled negotiator with a proven ability to move to a supplier's best and final offer in the designated time frame for the project
  • Position requires up to 30% travel, as necessary, to support MCC business requirements.
