About the role 
 
As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of MCC Christchurch & Kiwi Labels. You will analyze the economic stability of the company and be responsible for partnering with various business units and departments to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations that drive profitability and operational efficiency. Your expertise in financial planning, budgeting, analysis, and strategic guidance will be instrumental in achieving MCC’s financial goals.
 
Duties include:  
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports for Holding Company
  • Managing the preparation of monthly financial reports – P + L, Balance Sheet, Internal and cash flow reports within tight timeframes.
  • Completion/supervision of monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets, and depreciation schedules.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to various business units, working closely with department heads and executives.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Liaison with external Auditors, Bank Managers and Tax specialists.
  • Create financial models to support business decisions, such as pricing strategies, capital investments, and new projects.
  • Review and analysis of P+L and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Manage local fixed asset register and inventory. 
About you 
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field. (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial modelling and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in the manufacturing or labelling industry is a plus.
