MCC’s Wine & Spirits group has partnered with Training Within Industry, Inc (TWI) and Dozuki to transform our operational training programs, which has created new opportunities to join a growing business. The Trainer will be responsible for all new hire operational training for assigned area(s) within the facility, with the expectation that 80% or more of time is spent in training: 10% classroom, 90% on-the-job training (OJT). Each Trainer hired will be responsible for training at least thirty new hires per year in addition to cross-training current employees.

Responsibilities: 

  • Promote a culture of relentless pursuit of continuous improvement by developing world class operators  
  • Provides training for all trainers in assigned area using TWI Job Instruction (JI) training technique, earning and maintaining JI certification with a goal of mastering the skill 
  • Ensures adherence to training timelines for new hires, tracking training completion for all teammates. 
  • Ensures all required employees reach recertification goals 
  • Ensures site has updated Job Instruction Breakdowns (JIBs) for all Operational roles recorded in training system, including taking an active role in the documentation approval process 
  • Assists with creating JIBs as needed 
  • Ensures site has updated Quick Reference Guides (QRGs) for all Operational roles recorded in training system, partnering with department SMEs to complete 
  • Assists with creating QRGs as needed 
  • Maintains training plans within system, including course assignment and user creation / management 
  • Maintains training metrics and timelines, including training dashboards and forecasting in conjunction with site leaders  
  • Performs weekly training audit checks with Supervisors 
  • Ensure safety is the primary focus for the plant. Promote and practice safety awareness through the proper use of equipment. 
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • 1-3+ years’ experience providing training within a manufacturing or similar environment, printing industry experience preferred 
  • Patience, clear communication, and approachability are required 
  • Passion for helping others to learn, grow, and succeed in their career development 
  • Experience developing a training program from start to finish.  
  • Self-motivator that will drive results 
  • Formal training education / certification, preferably from TWI Institute, a plus 
  • Intermediate math skills highly desired 
  • Experience using an online training system preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel preferred 

Other considerations: 

  • Work conditions include standing, bending, lifting, and manipulating machines in the manufacturing environment to perform training duties and also walking and interacting with employees on the floor 
  • Travel requirements estimated to be 0-10%, including traveling to other facilities within the Business Unit for training events as needed
