The Role 
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Chief Accountant to join our team in Poland, covering our plants in Warsaw and Poznań. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring compliance with both local GAAP and US GAAP, and leading the accounting team toward future growth.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Accounting Operations: Manage the accounting department for Poland, ensuring timely and accurate reporting for both local GAAP and US GAAP.
  • Main Point of Contact: Act as the primary liaison between the local accounting teams and the shared service center, fostering smooth communication and efficient operations.
  • Balance Reconciliation and Review: Ensure monthly balance reconciliations are completed and take responsibility for the half-yearly balance review in collaboration with the group accounting team.
  • Tax and Compliance: Ensure high-quality, on-time reporting for local requirements (CIT/VAT, and other local authorities' reporting).
  • Collaboration with Finance Managers: Work closely with the Finance Managers in both Poznań and Warsaw to align financial strategies and ensure effective reporting.
  • Instruction and Guidance: Provide clear instructions and foster strong cooperation between the accounting team and other departments within the Polish organization.
  • Team Development: Drive the development and growth of the local accounting team, preparing them for upcoming tasks and challenges.
 
The Person: 
To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Proven experience in accounting, particularly with local and international accounting standards (local GAAP, US GAAP).
  • Experience in reporting CIT, VAT, and other local requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external service providers.
  • A self-driven person who finds it natural to take the lead in all accounting tasks.
  • Leadership experience and a passion for developing teams.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage tight reporting deadlines.
  • Previous experience working with a group shared service center while still taking full responsibility for local accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP accounting software and MS Office.
  • Preferably, past experience in production companies.
  • Mastery of English and Polish languages.
  • Master degree in Finance, Accounting, auditor or similar with +5 years of experience
