The experienced analyst will play an integral role in overall company strategy with a focus on supporting/leading a range of Corporate Development, Pipeline Development & Enterprise Risk Management activities. Reporting into the Senior Manager, Corporate Development & Risk Management, the Senior Analyst will assist the team in deal sourcing, initial evaluation, investment thesis, executive presentations, and supporting the Transaction Diligence throughout the 
acquisition lifecycle. Additionally, this individual will support MCC’s overall Insurance & Risk Management initiatives highly critical to the success of a large, multinational manufacturing company.
This position offers significant exposure to senior management, including the CFO, SVPs and CEO, coupled with the opportunity to learn in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.

Responsibilities: 

Corporate Development
  • Assist in sourcing and identification of acquisition targets through the analysis of customers, products, markets, geographies, technologies, and competitors.
  • Lead development of initial (pre-diligence) financial projections for acquisition targets with the Vice President of Corporate Development, MCC Business Unit Presidents, & Operations Leadership
  • Build & analyze deal models to ensure alignment with overall MCC strategy & market opportunities.
  • Coordinate & project manage diligence workstreams for active targets, including Finance, Tax, IT, EH&S, Commercial and Operational.
  • Performs multiple valuation analysis to develop appropriate valuation range & recommendation for leadership.
  • Supports the team in developing evaluation criteria to analyze the costs/benefits of potential acquisitions.
  • Maintains internal repository up to date for all market interactions and confidential information gathered.
  • Assist with the preparation of executive presentations to support the approval of acquisitions by the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) & Board of Directors.
  • Supports integration efforts post-close to ensure smooth hand-off of initial evaluation documents and investment thesis to global business partners.
  • Enhance the global process for identifying acquisition targets & work with local business leaders to build the pipeline
 
Enterprise Risk Management
  • Support the relationships with all insurance brokers and carriers.
  • Support all global insurance renewals to effectively minimize MCC’s overall risk profile & ensure proper protection across all lines of coverage.
  • Effectively manage the relationships with Operations and Engineering on MCC’s Global Risk Improvement Program and overall Enterprise Risk Posture.
  • Become a subject matter lead on MCC’s global insurance program & respond to requests from the field in a timely manner. • Strategically review and coordinate policy coverages in coordination with parent company portfolio programs.
  • Update and review all reporting on Insurance programs, claims, and Enterprise Risk
 

Qualifications: 

  • High-level thinker with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
  • Individual contributor willing to get into the details & identify the critical information quickly, but thoroughly
  • Advanced financial acumen to assess financial statements & analyze performance for M&A opportunities.
  • Ability to build multiple complex models for deal scenarios (IE. Discounted Cashflow, EBITDA Multiple Analysis).
  • Independently develop financial projections for Income Statements, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Strong presentation skills, including being comfortable speaking & defending assumptions to upper management in a concise manner
  • Independent worker that must be able to see the “big-picture” & relay how acquisitions achieve that goal
  • Ability to identify information gaps & find relevant data-points/benchmarks to make data driven assumptions.
  • Genuine curiosity & interest to learn; willing to go above & beyond the task at-hand
  • Proven ability to assess, automate, streamline and enhance complex processes • Ability to build relationships with cross-functional team across all levels of the organization
  • Team player that thrives in a fast-paced environment • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business Administration
  • Three to five year’s professional level experience in FP&A, corporate development, investment banking, consulting, transaction services, or a mergers and acquisitions function.
