Job Descriptions:
Fixed Asset Accounting
- Lead and oversee the team in ensuring full compliance with US GAAP and in-country statutory requirements for fixed asset maintenance and processing.
- Lead and manage the team in understanding and applying company accounting policies, relevant GAAP, accounting standards, and tax laws/regulations.
- Lead the migration of fixed asset accounting tasks from local business units to the shared service center as needed.
- Supervise and review the recording of fixed asset movements in the accounting system completed by Specialist, adhering to service level agreements.
- Review and guide Specialist in maintaining accurate records and reporting of Approval for Expenditure (AFE) for all capital expenditures (CAPEX).
- Supervise, review and coordinate the management of supporting documentation for fixed asset movements, ensuring all records are complete, properly maintained, accurately filed and best practices to comply with company policy.
Month-End Close
- Review the completion of US GAAP and local statutory depreciation processes in accordance with service level agreements.
- Ensure all significant issues arise are discussed and handled in timely manner with all stakeholders. Issues arise which require significant attention by the top management are to be escalated immediately.
- Review month-end journals in accordance with company accounting policies, ensuring compliance with local and US accounting standards and principles.
- Act as the key liaison responsible for reviewing updates made by Specialists in the monthly Hyperion roll forward data form. Ensure all information is accurate and error-free to support precise corporate cash flow assessments.
Financial Reporting – Internal & External
- Oversee the team in reviewing with the Local Controller on Assets Under Construction accounts to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items.
- Review and guide the team in preparing comprehensive quarterly US GAAP fixed asset reconciliations between Hyperion balances and Fixed Asset Summary Reports.
- Lead the team in supporting audit processes by setting clear expectations, overseeing the preparation of schedules, and ensuring the timely delivery of accurate documentation.
Process & Change Management
- Establish and execute shared service migration plans and quarterly enhancement projects.
- Collaborate with functional teams to manage process enhancements and optimization.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead development and implementation of process improvement in the Fixed Asset function in the Company.
- Leverage on use of technology and implement cost-neutral process enhancements.
Compliance and Internal Controls
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure the Company's financial practices align with industry standards and legal obligations.
Service Level and Team Collaboration
- Promote a strong service ethos to support delivery to agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Act as the focal point to ensure effective communication and resolution of operational related issues and decisions.
- Build long-term relationships with Company’s internal stakeholders and leadership team.
- Work closely with other operation functions to ensure seamless coordination of financial activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Team Manager and/or Assistant Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in accounting, finance or audit, including leadership experience.
- Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Administration or equivalent with professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA).
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
- Independent, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify the root cause of issues and implement corrective actions.
- Able to multi-task, pay attention to details, thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Candidate who has Shared Services Centre (SSC) experience is an added advantage.
