Responsibilities: 

  • Review and understand art files/imposition layouts in order to process files, send files to the RIP (raster image processor), and produce plates and screens for press.
  • Identify incorrect art files/imposition layouts and complete nonconformance report (NCR) process for timely support of press.
  • Ability to perform quality inspection on all tooling, both produced internally and received from outside suppliers.
  • Run and maintain all equipment, as required.
  • Image and process plates.
  • Image and process rotary screens / Gallus screens.
  • Keep accurate records in hour-by-hour boards of daily shift activity.
  • Mark completed plates in Radius software, WebCenter software, and Press Scheduling Assistant (PSA) software.
  • Make replacement plates for damaged or worn plates and rotary screens.
  • Keep accurate records of material use and remake root cause.
  • Send tooling files to vendors as required.
  • Complete all assigned preventive maintenance (PMs) for plate-making and screen-making equipment as scheduled.
  • Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations. For example, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HAACP); British Retail Consortium (BRC) as applicable.
  • Interacts and behaves professionally. Treats all associates respectfully and professionally while maintaining company code of ethics.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively regarding plant requirements with internal and external suppliers.
  • Responsible for maintaining daily housekeeping efforts and cleaning of plate and screen rooms
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Exhibits a safety-first attitude in all that is done, from proper personal protection equipment compliance to keeping the work environment safe and hazard-free. Compliance with all workplace and safety standards required.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to understand and complete detailed written and/or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Capable of working in a team environment and communicating priorities or problems.
  • Possess skills to prioritize and self-manage to problem solve.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate with other associates, customers and vendors.
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Lift, push, move up to 50 pounds
