Primary Purpose:

The IT Business Operations Analyst is a key resource to help define and manage internal IT standards and processes, identify and communicate best practices to share with the IT Project Management Office, perform business analyst tasks on key projects as needed and be flexible to support the office of the CIO as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Analyst / IT PMO Support Responsibilities:
    • Gather, document, and validate business requirements from clients and stakeholders.
    • Translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications.
    • Collaborate with developers, testers, and project managers to ensure alignment and feasibility of solutions.
    • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and user acceptance of solutions.
    • Provide training, support, and documentation to end-users and stakeholders.
    • Monitor and report on project progress, issues, and risks.
    • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, best practices, and benchmarks.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance business processes, systems, and performance.
    • Coach project business analysts on best practices
  • IT Financial Management
    • Help Information Technology teams with annual budget planning and project budget planning
    • Partner with Finance to clearly communicate planned and actual spend against budgets
    • Prepare reports from financial systems, BI systems or manually in spreadsheets 2 for spend reporting, budgeting templates to be shared with key stakeholders and leadership
    • Prepare budget and financial presentations to communicate key points related to budgeting, IT spend, project portfolio
    • Manage IT financial processes to ensure IT Managers understand the processes and follow the disciplines in a complete and timely manner
  • Training & Communications:
    • When new processes and identified and defined, determine the best way to train IT resources on the processes, develop training material or presentations and present content in a thorough and efficient manner
    • Prepare status communications on varying topics as needed in appropriate formats
    • Collaborate with both IT resources and other business functions to ensure all parties are aligned and on the same page for goals and deliverables.
  • Research & Procurement
    • Help identify and pilot productivity and collaboration tools to drive efficiency is internal IT operations
    • Assist other IT functions in research on software solutions and delivery partners
    • On occasion, drive an RFI (Request for Information) or RFP (Request for Proposal) in the effort to select new IT vendors and suppliers
    • Collaborate with Corporate Procurement team to get status of IT backlog and communicate priorities
  • Change Management & Quality:
    • Lead project teams and manage resources effectively on candidate smaller sized internal IT projects as needed.
    • Monitor project progress and performance against baseline plans.
    • Leverage project management best practices and methodologies.
    • Address issues and risks proactively to minimize disruptions.
    • Help identify a resource management framework for IT organization
    • Help customize the framework as needed to fit our internal culture and needs
    • Lead the rollout of the framework and manage ongoing process to ensure they are incorporated into the overarching IT PMO processes
    • Be a key participant for IT in a pilot rollout of Oracle EPM’s financial forecasting and planning modules
    • Help define requirements for the pilot
    • Ensure strong communications occur with IT leadership throughout the pilot
    • Assist in any required tasks to help ensure the pilot is successful such as requirements / input gathering
    • Help identify a framework, best practices and standards for quality and change management across our IT delivery organization.
    • Help customize the framework as needed to fit our internal culture and needs
    • Lead the rollout of the framework and manage ongoing process to ensure they are incorporated into the overarching IT PMO processes
    • Small Project Execution:

    • Oracle EPM Forecasting / Planning Pilot

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, business information systems, finance and accounting or another discipline that prepares business analysts for a career in IT
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in business analyst, financial analyst, process improvement analyst, project manager or program manager
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Monday.com, Wrike, MS Project, Jira, MS DevOps)
  • Proficiency in collaboration tools, including experience documenting / diagraming business flow processes and / or IT system diagraming
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Very fluent in English (both oral and written)
  • Leadership skills, including team management, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence and drive change
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Previous experience in operations or a manufacturing environment preferred 
  • Can-do attitude willing to wear multiple hats, while take on a wide variety tasks from as simple as organizing a team lunch to defining and recommending a future state process for an IT organization 
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills 
  • Must be able to travel to and from regions that MCC Operates out of 
  • Travel requirement up to 20% of time
