Description:
The tooling coordinator works with the MCC Knoxville team, our suppliers, and our sister plants to ensure tooling and procurement needs are met on time while staying within budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Tooling procurement and inventory management
  • Unpacking, inspecting, and racking incoming tools
  • Replacing worn out, damaged, and/or non-conforming tools
  • Sending tools for repair
  • Transferring tools to/from other MCC plants
  • Troubleshooting tooling issues on press when needed
  • Internal tooling calibration and external calibration with suppliers
  • Communicating with suppliers and evaluating new tooling innovations and cost reduction opportunities
  • Working with plant GM and controller on achieving monthly budgets for each GL account
  • Plant procurement for other consumable items
  • Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Able to read & understand layout and prints
  • Ability to read and understand standard and metric units of measure
  • Ability to utilize various measuring tools for inspection (rulers, calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Familiarity with other basic hand and power tools
  • Fundamental understanding of rotary tooling in the context of pressure-sensitive flexographic printing
  • Good organization skills
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Experience in MRP/ERP systems (EFI Radius or equivalent a plus)
  • Experience in managing multiple supply bases in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage GL accounts and budgets
  • Ability to stand for up to four hours at a time and lift up to 35lbs
  • Must be able to work around/with magnets
