Hours of Work: 36.5 hours per week - Rotating Treble Shift Pattern (Morning, Afternoon, nights)
Salary From £24800 per annum

What You’ll Do
As an Ink Technician, you’ll be at the heart of our production process, ensuring every colour is spot on. Your responsibilities will include:
Ink Preparation & Colour Matching
- Mix and prepare inks based on production schedules.
- Fine-tune ink formulations using your colour expertise and feedback from the team.
- Carry out swatch tests and colour checks using advanced tools like spectrophotometers.
- Match new colours accurately using industry-standard systems (X-Rite, Pantone).
Stock & Inventory Matching
- Keep ink supplies organised, labelled, and ready for use.
- Monitor stock levels and work with the Ink Team Leader to reorder when needed.
Quality & Process Control
- Maintain detailed records of ink batches and adjustments.
- Support troubleshooting for colour issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
On-Press Support
- Assist press operators during production runs, especially during colour or job changeovers.
- Help with tooling requirements such as plates, cutters, and embossers.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Keep your workspace clean, safe, and organised following 6S principles.
- Adhere to COSHH and health & safety guidelines when handling chemicals and inks.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a print manufacturing environment (flexographic, gravure, litho, or digital).
- Strong knowledge of colour theory and ink systems.
- Familiarity with ink dispensing/mixing equipment and colour management software.
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office) and attention to detail.
- A team player with flexibility to work rotating shifts.

Desirable Extras
- NVQ or equivalent in Print Technology or Ink Technology.
- Experience with spectrophotometers and colour measurement tools.
Shift Pattern
Rotating Treble Shifts:
- Morning: 06:45 – 14:45
- Afternoon: 14:30 – 22:15
- Night: 22:00 – 07:15
(Some weekend or overtime work may be required during peak periods.)
