Perform duties associated with safely and efficiently running the Solvent Recovery Department in order to recover press solvent and provide acceptable Spear Recovered solvent to both internal and external users. Position works with Solvent Recovery equipment, Boiler Room, Cooling Towers and Waste Management.

Responsibilities: 

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Ensure proper operation of Solvent Recovery System including equipment operation, troubleshooting, PM, and record compliance.
  • Ensure proper operation of Boiler Room Equipment including equipment operation, troubleshooting, PM, and record compliance.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment operation, troubleshooting, PM, and record compliance.
  • Perform duties associated with Hazardous Waste Management including handling and record keeping.
  • Working knowledge of ISO quality management systems requirements.
  • Must follow applicable Food Safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide support to Ink Room with unloading of trucks and document compliance.
    Participate on First Alert Team.
    Perform duties associated with EHS Containment Inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Spear. 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of High School Diploma required. AS Degree or higher preferred. Position requires working knowledge of Chemistry with analytical testing. Significant experience related directly to position duties may be considered as substitute for formal education.
  • Mechanical and Machinery aptitude required. 
  • Position requires completion of On-the-Job Training Course in Solvent Recovery including basic Chemistry. Employment requires annual EHS training to encompass Process Safety Management, DOT, site safety, Confined Space, hazardous waste handling, and spill response. Employee will be required to be certified on Industrial Lift Truck.
