We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS to join our Platform Engineering team and elevate our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing and optimizing AWS environments, leading automation efforts, and ensuring seamless integration between development and operations. Your skills in AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD pipeline automation will be key to enhancing efficiency and reliability across our cloud platform. Additionally, you will help shape the direction of our Platform Engineering team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. You will work closely with development, operations, and project management teams to create a collaborative and productive environment that supports the company’s growth and innovation.

 

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Mentor the DevOps team by sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Provide guidance and support to team members, encouraging continuous learning and professional development. 
  • Lead complex DevOps projects from planning through execution, ensuring successful delivery. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align DevOps initiatives with overall business objectives.
  • Optimize and manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Amazon MQ, and CloudFormation to meet the needs of development and operations.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK to ensure consistent and scalable infrastructure management.
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools, automating build, test, and deployment processes to streamline development workflows.
  • Work closely with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery.
  • Set up and manage monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog to ensure optimal system performance and reliability. Develop and maintain alerting systems for proactive issue resolution.
  • Implement and enforce AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security. Conduct regular security audits to maintain compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify and implement improvements within DevOps processes to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency, driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Experience We Want to See

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps roles, with a strong focus on AWS.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hands-on management and optimization of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Amazon MQ, CloudFormation) to support both development and operational needs.
  • Strong skills in automating infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
  • Experience writing automation scripts in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Strong proficiency with GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD pipeline automation.
  • Proficiency in setting up and managing monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or Datadog.
  • Good understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience with Linux/Windows based cloud infrastructures.
  • Strong understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security.
  • Strong project management skills
  • ith a track record of successfully managing complex projects.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in MySQL and T-SQL database administration are a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) are a plus.
