Pay Range: $16.00-$18.00

JOB OVERVIEW

Under Food Service Manager supervision, the Restaurant Host performs the following duties: 

  

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Greet & seat guests in a timely manner & make sure the server is aware they have been seated
  • Record guest name and number of people in the party and provide an estimated wait time during times of seating limitations
  • Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible
  • Take phone orders, input into FPOS accurately, and send to cooks; double check orders are accurate before giving it to customers
  • Must be able to learn and memorize different ingredients in the entire menu
  • Charge correct amount to each placed order
  • Maintain accurate tender in cashier drawer
  • Side work not limited to: making to-go utensil set ups, filling to-go dressings, butters and jam
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Assist kitchen staff (servers, bussers, etc.)
  • Must be able to understand recipes in English
  • Restock cups, cutlery, and other supplies from stock room.
  • Must have verbal proficiency of the English language and be able to read and write English at an advanced level.

  

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES 

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following: 

Training/Education

  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate

 

Experience: 

  • Prior restaurant experience is a plus.

Ability to: 

  • Be able to communicate clearly
  • Work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and telephone skills to be able to communicate clearly and effectively with our guests
  • Must be able to assist guests and possess great people skills
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Punctuality and reliable attendance is a must.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Comply with company standards and directives

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

  • Will always be standing and constantly lift 10 lbs.
  • Lift bags containing prepared food, up to 25 lbs. from 24” to 36”
  • Carry bowls and plates of food beverages up to 50 ft.
  • Push/pull cart and dolly

Special Requirements

  • Must be available to work various shifts as needed
