Pay Range: $16.00 per hour plus tips 

JOB OVERVIEW
 

Under the Food Service Manager supervision, the RESTAURANT SERVER performs the following duties: 

 TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serving hot and cold food to customers in a fast paced environment
  • Interact with customers and kitchen staff in preparation and delivery of food orders
  • Check quality control of prepared items prior to delivery to the table for customer ingestion
  • Be prepared to explain menu items, including food content and preparation style
  • Assist in making drinks, both hot and cold
  • Act as host when needed
  • Clean tables of dishes and silverware
  • Notify kitchen of order following department procedures
  • Deliver food and beverages to table from kitchen
  • Be prepared to explain menu items, including food content and preparation style
  • Taking accurate orders and partnering with team members to serve food and beverages that meet or exceed guests’ expectations
  • Present guest check and process utilizing proper policies and procedures for cash, gift card or credit card
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance of tables, chairs, carpet and/or equipment and any accidents
  • Suggest additional items to customers, as appropriate

 

 QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES 

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following: 

Training/Education

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate

Experience 

  • Prior serving experience preferred

Knowledge of

  • Food presentation, preparation and handling
  • Basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system

Ability to: 

  • Be punctual and regular reliable attendance
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Comply with company standards and directives

 

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: 

  • Performing repetitious movements while standing for long periods of time
  • Push, carry and lift plated food beverages, pitchers, trays up to 50 pounds; height lifted from 3ft. to 5ft., 100 plus times per day
  • Bend, stoop and kneel
  • Frequently reaches above or below shoulder for products
  • Work inside and in hot conditions frequently
  • Work in cold conditions occasionally
  • Be able to work efficiently and effectively in a frequent noisy environment
  • Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comply with health code requirements

 

Special Requirements: 

  • Must be available to work various shifts as needed
