Description

Pay Range: $16.00- $20.00 per hour

Under the Food Service Manager supervision, the DISHWASHER performs the following duties:

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organize, clean and store dishes, silverware, glasses and all cooking apparatus used in food service departments
  • Ensure specified water temperatures are used
  • Ensure cleanliness and health code standards compliance
  • Monitor products used to clean utensils and equipment and replenishes when necessary
  • Organize storage shelves and maintain proper inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Record breakage and losses of utensils and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness of dish washing area including floors, counters and walls
  • Remove waste from collected bus tubs
  • Stock produce for kitchen walk-in and rotate as needed
  • Stock dry goods into kitchen storage areas
  • Maintain cleanliness and organize walk-in
  • Ensure safety of work area by removing debris and hazards
  • Assist in training for new dishwashers as needed
  • Keep work area clean and safe
  • Interact with co-workers in a friendly productive manner
  • Empty trash in work areas and transfer to dumpsters

QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Training/Education
:

  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. certificate

Experience:

  • No training and experience necessary – entry level position

Ability to:

  • Learn procedures used in cleaning and storing kitchen utensils
  • Learn applicable health codes
  • Promote teamwork, working harmoniously and as a team with those contacted in the course of work
  • Work in an accurate manner in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate with supervisors and co-workers in a manner able to be understood
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Comply with company standards and directives

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Perform repetitious movements while standing for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Push, carry and lift large equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds
  • Bend, stoop and kneel
  • Extend arms overhead and reach for products and boxes
  • Work both inside and outside in wet and/or dry, hot and/or cold conditions
  • Perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comply with health code requirements
  • Help with deliveries of kitchen product. Stack cases of product of varying weight, up to 70 pounds per case or bag
  • Break down produce pallets. Stack cases weighing up to 70 pounds in the walk in cooler


Special Requirements:

  • Must be available to work various shifts as needed
