Job Profile
The Change and Release Manager will be responsible for establishing, leading and continually improving Moneycorp’s Change Management and Release Management functions. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all technology changes and software releases are delivered in a controlled, transparent and efficient manner, safeguarding service stability while enabling the business to innovate and grow.
The postholder will own the full lifecycle of change and release activity, from governance and documentation to planning, execution and business communication. They will partner closely with development teams, product teams, operational teams and business stakeholders to ensure all changes and releases are understood, assessed, prioritised and executed with minimal risk and maximum value. A key aspect of the role will be driving modernisation and automation across both disciplines, working alongside the IT Automation Analyst to streamline processes and deliver a clear, real time view of change and release activity across all systems.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational resilience, ensuring that every change and release supports Moneycorp’s commitment to delivering reliable, secure and high quality technology services to its global customer base.
Key Responsibilities
Governance and Process Ownership
- Own, maintain and continuously improve Moneycorp’s Change Management framework, documentation and procedures in alignment with industry standards such as ITIL and Moneycorp’s policies.
- Lead and manage the daily Change Advisory Board, ensuring accurate assessment of risk, impact and readiness for all proposed changes.
Process Excellence and Automation
- Work closely with the IT Automation Analyst to automate key change processes and reporting, reducing manual overhead and improving accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate bottlenecks, and optimise throughput while maintaining control.
- Develop meaningful performance metrics and dashboards to track change volumes, success rates and operational impact.
Operational Execution
- Manage the full lifecycle of all technology changes from submission to closure, ensuring compliance, quality and audit readiness.
- Maintain an accurate, real time change schedule that highlights business impacts, conflicts and risk windows.
- Ensure appropriate risk assessments, business impact analysis and rollback planning are completed for each change.
Release Planning and Roadmapping
- Engage with development teams, product owners and technical leads to understand and document their release roadmaps.
- Maintain an up to date forward plan of releases across all applications and platforms, providing the business with clear visibility of what is coming and when.
- Track progress against release commitments and ensure releases remain aligned with business timelines and priorities.
Execution, Control and Quality Assurance
- Oversee the end to end release lifecycle, ensuring each release meets quality standards and has passed all required testing.
- Raise changes for each release, ensure QA sign off is obtained, and verify that all release artefacts are complete and accurate.
- Maintain strong focus on business impact and risk, preventing the deployment of releases that do not meet readiness or quality criteria.
Communication and Business Engagement
- Produce clear, business friendly release notes that articulate new features, fixes, risks and business impacts.
- Communicate release schedules, content and readiness updates to stakeholders across Moneycorp.
- Coordinate business approvals for releases and maintain full audit trails of all decisions.
Modernisation and Automation
- Redefine and document Moneycorp’s Release Management framework to reflect current technologies, best practice and organisational needs.
- Work alongside the IT Automation Analyst to design and deliver a Release Management portal that provides automated tracking, real time insights, status reporting and transparency of release content for every system.
- Ensure the portal provides a consolidated view of all releases, their contents, progress, issues, dependencies and approval stages.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential Knowledge and Experience
- Experience managing Change Management and Release Management functions within a corporate or regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes with demonstrable experience running CAB and managing structured change workflows.
- Proven ability to create, maintain and improve process documentation, policies and governance frameworks.
- Experience coordinating software releases across multiple systems and development teams.
- Ability to assess risk, business impact and technical dependencies for both changes and releases.
- High level of organisation with strong time management and planning skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical detail into clear business friendly language.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and challenge where required.
- Experience tracking change and release activity using ITSM or workflow tools.
- Strong analytical approach with attention to detail and the ability to identify process bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively across technical and business teams while maintaining independence of judgement.
- Experience of working with development teams, QA teams and product teams within structured delivery environments.
- Proactive approach to identifying automation opportunities and working with automation specialists to implement improvements.
- Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles including environments, deployments and release readiness.
Desirable:
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Experience of implementing or maturing Change Management and Release Management frameworks in fast growing organisations.
- Experience with automation platforms or workflow engines to streamline change and release processes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Understanding of CI, CD pipelines and modern engineering practices.
- Experience producing or maintaining release roadmaps and release calendars.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira Service Management or similar platforms.
- Experience in financial services, payments, or other regulated sectors.
- Experience building dashboards or reporting views for release and change metrics.
- Knowledge of risk management, compliance and audit requirements in technology operations.
- Experience coordinating out of hours changes or releases where required.
Please note: This is a full-time, permanent position. The role is expected to be office-based in London, however, we have a flexible working policy which enables you to work up to 2 days from home.
