Role Purpose
The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) is responsible for managing and growing a defined portfolio of corporate clients across FX, payments, and deposit products. The role combines proactive new business development with exceptional ongoing relationship management to drive sustainable commercial growth.
The SRM will ensure clients receive excellent service, fair value, and good outcomes in line with Consumer Duty requirements. This role is essential to delivering the Bank’s commercial ambitions by deepening client engagement, enhancing wallet share, and identifying new opportunities across Gibraltar and UK market segments.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong client relationship capability, commercial acumen, and a commitment to operating within all regulatory and governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Client Portfolio Management
- Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate clients across FX, payments, and deposit products.
- Strengthen client engagement through regular contact, business reviews, and tailored financial solutions.
- Ensure all clients receive fair value and good outcomes in alignment with Consumer Duty principles.
- Maximise wallet share through cross-selling based on client needs, data insights, and market dynamics.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Proactively identify and acquire new corporate clients through targeted outreach, networking, and referral channels.
- Achieve individual revenue and activity targets across FX, payments, and deposit products.
- Deliver commercially viable solutions that support both client requirements and the Bank’s strategic objectives.
Risk Management Solutions (RMS) Support
- Work closely with the Bank’s MiFID FX dealing desk to ensure clients receive appropriate risk management support.
- Identify clients requiring hedging or structured solutions and coordinate engagement with RMS specialists.
- Maintain strong understanding of market dynamics to guide client conversations and opportunity identification.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure all client interactions, onboarding, and product recommendations adhere to regulatory and internal governance standards.
- Partner with Compliance, Risk, and Fraud teams to maintain strong operational control and mitigate regulatory or reputational risk.
- Maintain high-quality client files, KYC documentation, and adherence to onboarding procedures.
Commercial Accountability
- Use data insights to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities within your client portfolio.
- Contribute to deposit-raising initiatives supporting liquidity and balance sheet strength.
- Support commercial reporting requirements and contribute insight to internal performance reviews.
Collaboration & Culture
- Work collaboratively with Treasury, RMS, Operations, Compliance, and other internal teams.
- Actively contribute to a high-performance, client-centric culture.
- Support junior colleagues and share knowledge to help build capability across the team.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience relevant to the role
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience managing commercial client relationships within banking, FX, payments, or financial services.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving revenue and activity targets.
- Strong understanding of FX markets, cash management, payments, and deposit products.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including Consumer Duty.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Experience with risk management solutions (desirable).
Skills:
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to identify and convert opportunities.
- Ability to understand and articulate financial products clearly to clients.
- Good analytical skills and comfortable using data to inform decisions.
- Well-organised with strong planning and prioritisation skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and client focus.
